Carly Pearce Uses Female Influences On New Album

Carly Pearce’s female country influences really shine through on her new project, 29. Monday, March 8th is International Women’s Day, Carly is proud to namecheck those women who came before her and helped her become the artist she is today.

Carly talks about some of her favorite female influences, “If you listen to it, you’ll hear a lot of 90s female country influences on it, like Patty Loveless, LeeAnn Womack, The Chicks, Sara Evans, Dolly, Reba … all of them. What I love about 90s country and all of those females is the amazing production. I feel like it was honest, rootsy, vulnerable, sassy, all wrapped up into one. And they all had very distinct tones.  And they were true artists, which I think is so special.”

29 features Carly’s latest single, “Next Girl.”

She was recently nominated for Female Vocalist, Single and Musical Event of the Year for her duet with Lee Brice, “I Hope You’re Happy Now” at the ACM Awards, taking place in Nashville on April 18th and airing on CBS.
