We bet he thought this day would never happen.
Jelly Roll’s life has changed immensely. He has made the transition from ex-convict to country star to cop. Saturday, July 27, Jelly Roll was officially sworn in as a deputy sheriff at the Genesee County Jail in Michigan. He was taking part in a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the jail, which opened up a music studio at the facility that will assist in the rehabilitation of future inmates.
“It is my honor to extend a deputy status, and he’s going to be sworn in today as a deputy sheriff for the county of Genesee, right here, in Flint, Michigan, with his own badge. This is your badge, this is the real deal, you walk into any facility now, you can tell them you’re a deputy sheriff for Genesee County!” – Sheriff Christopher Swanson.
Jelly Roll then performed to 15,000 music fans later that night at the Tailgate N’ Tallboys festival in Midland, Michigan.
