Furry Friends

Listen to Hilley and Hart each Friday at 7:30 AM for 94.3 KAT Country’s Furry Friends.

Each week, Hilley & Hart introduces you to a dog or cat (or maybe something else!) from the Jefferson City Animal Shelter that would LOVE to be a part of your family!

Meet Lucky, a 2-and-a-half-month-old domestic short-haired neutered male kitten.

Lucky was brought to the shelter with his siblings at only a day old. He has been in a foster home since and is now ready to find his forever family. He is a super-friendly and playful boy who will make a great addition to any family. Lucky is super playful, but is a biter when he gets wound up. Please keep this in mind if you have small children. He will outgrow it once he matures and settles down, but right now he’s ALL KITTEN and ready to romp and play.

Due to his siblings suckling on him out of comfort when they were very little, he does have a thickened prepuce. Though it hasn’t seemed to bother him when urinating or seemed to cause him any discomfort, it will need to be monitored to make sure that it doesn’t later become an issue down the road. The shelter vet did make a small slit in the prepuce to make the hole slightly larger for urine to escape. The other male in this group had the same issues and has since been seen by a local vet and is doing just fine. As he grows, this may resolve on its own, but it still needs to be monitored closely.
