Here is what’s happening in Mid-Missouri:

Tuesday, October 26th: MSHP Community Alliance Program
The Missouri State Highway Patrol is looking for 20 people to join the Community Alliance Program. You’ll attend five meetings on Tuesdays starting  October 26th, and topics like criminal investigations, DWI enforcement, and polygraph exams will be covered. There’s also a ride-along with a Trooper included in the program. If you’d like to sign up, click here.   
Wednesday, October 27th: RACS Awareness Event
Join RACS at the Missouri Soybean Association located at 734 S. Country Club Drive in Jefferson City on Wednesday, October 27th from noon to 2 PM. Attendees will hear from a survivor of domestic violence and will get the chance to ask experts questions on the topics of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, the criminal justice process, and how RACS can help. Friday, October 29th: The Well CaliMO Meal Distribution
The Well CaliMo, located at New Beginnings Church 401 S. Oak in California, MO is having a meal distribution Friday, October 29th. Each child ages 3-18 will receive 7 suppers, 7 snacks, and a gallon of milk. They will start serving at 3:15 pm and will end at 5:30 pm (or until food runs out). Parents may pick up for their family or kids can walk by after school.

Saturday, October 30th: Haunted Hustle 5K
Lace up your sneakers and bring the family for a fun 5K! The Haunted Hustle 5K on Saturday, October 30th provides families and friends the opportunity to come out, have a great time, and raise money for The Sneaker Project. Start and finish at North Jefferson City Pavilion.  Registration is 8:00 a.m. with the 5K starting at 9:00 a.m. Food and water will be available before, during, and after the 5K. Saturday, October 30th: In The Park After Dark: Hocus Pocus
Join Capitol City Cinema for a screening of HOCUS POCUS at the newly renovated Capital Region MU Health Care Amphitheater. Doors open at 6 pm & the film begins at dusk! A food truck fare will be available & a mix of alcoholic & non-alcoholic drinks available from the amphitheater concession stand. Tickets are $5/person at the door. 3 & under FREE. Hawthorn Bank has graciously sponsored this years’ In the Park After Dark series. More information here.
Saturday, October 30th: Jefferson City Jaycees 13th Annual Trunk or Treat
Enjoy a safe and fun environment for your kids to trick or treat in during the Jefferson City Jaycees 13th Annual Trunk or Treat at 1445 Fairgrounds Road. From 2 PM to 5 Pm your little ones can enjoy games, activities, and goodies. Admission is $1 with proceeds benefiting Operation T.O.Y.S.
Sunday, October 31st: JCPD Haunted Alley
Drive-thru the Jefferson City Police Department’s Haunted Alley at 401 Monroe Street on Sunday, October 31st from 3 pm-4:30 pm.  Join the JCPD for an afternoon of fun, prizes, and treats, if you dare!
Thursday, November 4th: Jefferson City Kiwanis Chili For Children
Have the Jefferson City Kiwanis deliver chili to your business on Thursday, November 4th, Saturday, November 6th, or Thursday, November 11th. Sunday, November 7, 2021: St.Anthony Annual Turkey Dinner
Annual Turkey Dinner hosted by the St. Anthony SISTERS in Christ is happening from 11 am to 3 pm at 1874 North Business Route 5 in Camdenton, Missouri. A craft bazaar room and a country store will also be featured. Tickets are available the day of the dinner and the cost is $11.00 for adults, $5.00 for children, and kids under 5 eat free. Thursday, November 11th: Capital City CASA Celebrates 10 Years
Former NFL football player Michael Oher will be in Jefferson City on Thursday, November 11th to help Capital City CASA celebrate its 10th anniversary. CASA helps to improve the quality of life for children who have been neglected or abused. The event is happening at the Capital Bluffs Event Center starting at 5:30 pm. Tuesday, November 16th: Camdenton High School Blood Drive
Blood supplies remain short in Lake of the Ozarks, and Community Blood Center of the Ozarks is hosting a blood drive at Camdenton High School on Tuesday, November 16th. Blood donations will be accepted from 9 am – 3 pm in the Auxiliary Gym at the high school. Get more information at CBCO.org.  
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Jefferson City

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Jefferson City require mentors, especially male role models. They have two different types of mentoring programs. The organization is looking for individuals who can be consistent friends to a child.  You can learn more and sign up to become a mentor by going online to bbbsjeffersoncity.org.

Donate or Volunteer at The Food Bank
The Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri relies heavily on donations and volunteers to operate efficiently. Through their partnership with Feeding America and local organizations, The Food Bank has incredible bulk purchasing power so they can do more with every dollar donated. American Red Cross Blood Drives
