Saturday, May 21st: World Vision Global 6K for Water
Help change a life this Spring by taking part in the World Vision Global 6K for Water. It will take place Saturday, May 21st at the Capital West Christian Church main building parking lot. You can walk, run or push a stroller to help raise money that will bring clean water to children around the world who need it. Tuesday, June 7th: Cole County Sheriff’s Department BBQ
Join the Cole County Sheriff’s Department at the Jaycees Cole County Fairgrounds on Tuesday, June 7th from 4 pm-7 pm for their annual BBQ. Tickets are $12 for adults and the meal includes your choice of pork steaks, chicken, or hotdogs with corn, green beans, and bread. A drive-thru option is available. Saturday, June 11th: Mid-Missouri Strawberry Festival
The Mid-Missouri Annual Strawberry Festival is coming up Saturday, June 11th with all proceeds benefitting Central Missouri Honor Flight. It’s happening at Serenity Valley Winery in Fulton and there will be music, food, local vendors, and fireworks. The cost is $5 for adults and kids under 3 get in free. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Jefferson City
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Jefferson City require mentors, especially male role models. They have two different types of mentoring programs. The organization is looking for individuals who can be consistent friends to a child.  You can learn more and sign up to become a mentor by going online to bbbsjeffersoncity.org.
Donate or Volunteer at The Food Bank
The Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri relies heavily on donations and volunteers to operate efficiently. Through their partnership with Feeding America and local organizations, The Food Bank has incredible bulk purchasing power so they can do more with every dollar donated. American Red Cross Blood Drives
Donating blood makes a big difference in the lives of others. The American Red Cross is looking for healthy donors to help save lives and give blood by booking an appointment. Find an upcoming blood drive near you by going online to redcrossblood.org.
