Friday, January 21st: The Well CaliMO Meal Distribution
The Well CaliMo, located at New Beginnings Church 401 S. Oak in California, MO is having a meal distribution Friday, January 21st. Each child ages 3-18 will receive 7 suppers, 7 snacks, and a gallon of milk. They will start serving at 3:15 pm and will end at 5:30 pm (or until food runs out). Parents may pick up for their family or kids can walk by after school.
Saturday, January 22nd: Red Slipper Warrior Project Annual Fundraiser Tickets On Sale
It’s almost time for the Red Slipper Warrior Project’s annual Valentine’s Day Fundraiser, Hollywood Nights
. It’s happening at the Capital Bluffs Event Center in Jefferson City on Saturday, February 12th. This year’s event will include a happy hour, dinner and live entertainment from the Red Slipper Warrior Band. Tickets go on sale Saturday, January 22nd. Friday, February 4th: First Responder Charity Hockey Game
Come out and see some ice hockey on Friday, February 4th at the Washington Park Ice Arena in Jefferson City. The proceeds will benefit The Safety Net, which provides support to the families of public safety officers who lost their lives serving in Boone, Cole, Callaway, Camden, Miller and Morgan counties. Saturday, February 5th: 4th Annual Trivia Night For Special Olympics
Spend an evening testing your knowledge with ten rounds of trivia, enjoy a silent auction and have fun at the 4th annual Trivia Night for Special Olympics on Saturday, February 5th at the Special Olympics Missouri Campus in Jefferson City. Doors open at 6 pm with trivia beginning at 7 pm. Cost is $25 a person or tables of 8 are available for $200. More details here.
Friday, March 4th: Knights of Columbus Lenten Fish Frys
They’re going to be frying lots of catfish in Holts Summit each Friday in March. The St. Andrew Knights of Columbus 2022 Lenten Fish Frys begin March 4th at a cost of $12 for adults and $6 for kids. They’ll be serving at Veit Hall from 3:30 to 7:00 and meals include fried catfish, baked potatoes, French fries, baked beans, slaw and dessert. All events are dine-in or carryout. Veit Hall is located at 400 St. Andrew Drive.
Thursday, March 24th: 3rd Annual Show Me Honor Awards Dinner
K9s on The Front Line invites you to join them for their annual charity dinner at the Capital Bluffs Event Center in Jefferson City on Thursday, March 24th starting at 5:30 pm to support Missouri Veterans. Enjoy dinner, a guest speaker, a live auction, and live music. All proceeds benefit K9s on The Front Line, a nonprofit providing trained service dogs to Missouri combat Veterans affected by PTSD, at no cost to them. Get details here.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Jefferson City
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Jefferson City require mentors, especially male role models. They have two different types of mentoring programs. The organization is looking for individuals who can be consistent friends to a child. You can learn more and sign up to become a mentor by going online to bbbsjeffersoncity.org.
Donate or Volunteer at The Food Bank
The Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri relies heavily on donations and volunteers to operate efficiently. Through their partnership with Feeding America and local organizations, The Food Bank has incredible bulk purchasing power so they can do more with every dollar donated. American Red Cross Blood Drives
