Each week, Hilley & Hart introduce you to a dog or cat (or maybe something else!) from the Jefferson City Animal Shelter that would LOVE to be a part of your family!
Ruger is this week’s Furry Friend on KAT Country. He’s a 2 to 3-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound, a neutered male, and right now he weighs about 47 pounds. Ruger was brought in as a stray, so some things are still unknown, such as how he does with kids and dogs or cats. But shelter staff can already tell he’s a classic hound dog — full of energy, smart, friendly, and ready for a home where he has space to be himself. He’d love a fenced yard and room to roam, and he’s probably not the best choice for apartment living since he does have that classic hound bark.
