Each week, Hilley & Hart introduce you to a dog or cat (or maybe something else!) from the Jefferson City Animal Shelter that would LOVE to be a part of your family!
Harper, a 3-month-old mixed breed spayed female puppy, is this week’s Furry Friend on KAT Country. Harper was brought to the shelter as a stray with her littermates and several other dogs who were said to have been dumped on the property. She is an EXTREMELY shy girl who is going to require A LOT of patience and time to learn that human affection is a good thing. She will need some socialization with many new things but not all at once. Getting her into a basic puppy class will help her build confidence and socialize in a controlled and positive environment with other dogs. Harper hasn’t really had much socialization. Please have patience with her and allow her time to adjust if she needs it.
