Listen to Hilley and Hart each Friday at 7:30 AM for 94.3 KAT Country’s Furry Friends.
Each week, Hilley & Hart introduce you to a dog or cat (or maybe something else!) from the Jefferson City Animal Shelter that would LOVE to be a part of your family!
Linnet, a 2-month-old spayed female Border Collie mix, is this week’s Furry Friend on KAT Country. Linnet was surrendered to the shelter along with her 8 siblings, as the owners already had too many animals in the home and were unable to care for them properly. They were placed in a loving foster home until they were big enough to go up for adoption.
While border collies can make for great companions, they are certainly not for everyone! It is important to understand that border collies were bred to be working dogs. They are highly intelligent dogs that need a TON of mental stimulation, as well as regular exercise. Overall, these dogs need a very active and mentally stimulating lifestyle. A sedentary lifestyle is NOT ideal for them. Please keep this in mind while considering adoption.

Visit the Jefferson City Animal Shelter today and make yourself a new Furry Friend! They’re open Monday-Friday from 12 Noon to 5:30 PM and are located at 2308 Hyde Park Road. Their phone number is 573-634-6429. Be sure to visit their website to see all the animals available for adoption!
